Referred to by locals as Davisville Village, Mount Pleasant West is a bustling and diversified neighbourhood with a real sense of community. Shops and services on the three major north-south intersections (Yonge Street, Mount-Pleasant Road, and Bayview Avenue) mean residents are just steps away from movie theatres, grocery stores, and big box shopping as well as trendy restaurants and boutiques.

Typical homes in the neighbourhood were built in the 1920s and ‘30s and are mostly two and three storey homes, although there are a few bungalows. There are also a handful of condo buildings in the area.

Mount Pleasant Cemetery, one of Canada’s most historic cemeteries, is a must see in the area featuring several artist installations, an abundant tree collection, large flower beds, and plenty of wildlife

Most people living in Mount Pleasant East are families with young children. Lately, there has been an influx of singles and young upwardly mobile couples who want to live on the subway line and close to amenities, without living downtown.
